Yomitan Village holds various sporting events enthusiastically, and also offers sites for sports camps.

In February, an international game of women’s rugby ”OKINAWA SEVENS 2017” was held in here, Okinawa for the first time.
Teams from four countries, the U.S., France, the Netherlands, and Australia, the gold medal winner of last year’s Rio Olympics, were invited to the game.

Two selected teams participated from Japan. The venue was full of excitement for two-day thrilling matches.
All the audience enjoyed a dynamic and quick flow of rugby sevens, no matter how they know the rules, and no matter where they’re from.

Meanwhile, we are grateful to hear that players and staff members from overseas had a good time in Yomitan Village, and that they loved the local atmosphere and hospitality.
Yomitan Village will continue to unite and make every effort to offer its best environment to hold the games, and accommodate visitors. We are looking forward to seeing you again!

“Specially Selected Suppon Soup” has been newly launched!

“Specially Selected Suppon Soup” is using Suppon (soft-shelled turtle) bred under the environment utilizing special aquaculture method as its main ingredient.

It will be your special meal in this cold winter.
This soup surely makes your body warm.
Necessary factors to breed specially selected Suppon:

Full-life cycle aquaculture of Nihon-Suppon (Japanese soft-shelled turtle) produces safe and fresh Suppon. Unlike the ones captured in natural environment, there is no worry about the cross-breeding with non-native species and food borne diseases.

Coral sands of Okinawa are used in aquaculture filed. It makes water clean and provides mineral ingredients to Suppon.

Ground water with sustained water quality under controlled temperature is used in aquaculture. It maintains the environment to support breeding of healthy Suppon.

The climate is generally warm with long daylight hours and year-round temperatures are relatively stable in Okinawa. Such environment is well suited for aquaculture of Suppon. Thanks to the warm environment, which makes hibernation period shorter and suppress the weight loss of Suppon, we can enjoy a good fatty Suppon in every season.
